14 oz Turkey Kielbasa - $2.501/2 lb lentils - $0.47 (if you don't like lentils, substitute beans or rice... or both)3 cups filtered water2 carrots - ~$0.203 ribs celery - ~$0.503 small onions - ~$0.60 (probably less)three cloves fresh garlic - ~$0.151 Tbsp olive oil - who knows... not much... let's say $0.10Cajun seasoningFresh parsley as garnish - ~$0.40
Dice the carrots, onion and celery. Peel and trim the garlic cloves. Put olive oil and garlic in the food processor (magic bullet). Mince garlic.
Throw everything in the crock pot and cook on low for approximately 1 hour or until desired tenderness. Watch this the first time you make it. The turkey kielbasa is pre-cooked and lentils cook quickly. It made such a tasty broth, my husband if I'd used chicken stock. Nope! Just water! :)
